Our Private Pistol Selection & Training session is designed for shooters who need help selecting the right pistol for their individual needs to set them up for success.
This training session is divided into pistol selection then moves onto live fire testing of the pistol(s), handgun safety training and the fundamentals of pistol shooting.

Our Private Pistol Selection & Training session was created after watching new shooters struggle to use a handgun that is not a good "fit" for them. In many cases, the handgun they attempt to use was selected for them by someone else. This leads to new shooter frustration, slow improvements and lack of drive to continue training.
This training is perfect for shooters who need or want help selecting the right pistol for their individual needs to set them up for success in future training endeavors. The first part of this session gives the student the opportunity to handle several pistols to identify the best fit in your hand and to make sure you can effectively manipulate the weapon. Through this process students will narrow their selection for live fire testing. The remainder of the session will be spent at the range doing live fire testing for the pistols selected. This training also focuses on handgun safety and training on the fundamentals of pistol shooting including proper grip, stance, sight alignment, sight picture, focus, breathing, trigger press and recoil control. Training will be held at Douglas Ridge Rifle Club. Range availability varies depending on club activities and will be coordinated at the time of scheduling. Most ranges are outdoors, so students will want to dress accordingly based on the weather conditions. Once you have finalized your purchase we will reach out to you to schedule a training time that works best for you, the range and your instructor.
