Our Ladies Beginner Pistol course is perfect for women who are new to firearms or looking to build a strong foundation in safe, confident handgun use. This class was created based on feedback from women who wanted a supportive, low-pressure environment to learn the basics and gain confidence with their firearm.

No prior experience is required. This course is designed specifically for beginners and those who want to reinforce safety, proper handling, and fundamental shooting skills in a comfortable and encouraging setting.

In this course, ladies will receive a comprehensive safety brief and instruction on the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship. Once those concepts are introduced, we will move into live fire training where instructors and coaches provide hands-on guidance, corrections, and encouragement to help students develop proper technique and confidence with their firearm.

This is a 3-hour class that will be held at Douglas Ridge Rifle Club. At this range students will have a covered area to shoot and their own table to set their equipment on. Although there will be cover overhead, the range is outdoors so students will want to dress accordingly based on the weather conditions. I also recommend bringing a chair if you think you'll need to sit down at some point during the class.

Equipment students are expected to bring to class are:
  • Handgun in good working condition
  • Case for your handgun
  • Chamber flag (required by Douglas Ridge Rifle Club)
  • 150 rounds of ammo appropriate for your handgun
  • Eye protection (prescription glasses are fine)
  • Ear protection (electronic hearing protection is best, but not required)
  • Cleaning kit appropriate for your handgun (must be correct caliber)
  • Lubrication for your handgun
  • Hat (to help protect you from hot flying brass)
  • Comfortable closed toed shoes (no sandals or flip flops will be allowed)
  • High neck shirt (no low cut or V-neck clothing for hot brass to find its way into)
  • A positive attitude and be ready to have a great time!

Cost of the class includes all range fees, targets, and instruction.
